Looking to discover off the beaten track Albania? In June 2016 we put together a private tour for Martin & Erika Lindsay, who wanted to do just that. Over 10 days we took them from north to south Albania, and even nipped into Kosovo for two nights. Along the way they visited Shkodër, Lake Koman, Korça, Permët, Tepelenë, Gjirokastra and the Albanian Riviera, and travelled along some challenging offroad routes too, allowing them to get a glimpse of life in the more remote villages. You can read their thoughts on their off the beaten track Albania & Kosovo tour here…

“Fascinating culturally and historically, beautiful, welcoming, unspoilt with an amazing variety of fresh produce. This sums up Albania for us.

“We were delighted to have chosen Drive Albania for our holiday. From the moment we arrived, Ed, Ani and Ardi worked tirelessly to make sure our trip was hassle-free. We very much appreciated the amount of groundwork done to find the best routes, restaurants, coffee shops and hotels (all of a good standard). It was a definite positive to have Ed’s dog Bubi accompany us on some of our trips.

“We wanted to explore off the beaten track Albania and so enjoyed the spectacular scenery afforded by the off-roading and the insight into rural life. It was an added bonus for Martin to be able to take to the wheel with Ardi’s expert support.

“We dipped our toes in to Kosovo, an interesting contrast, with its impressive UNESCO-listed monastery at Decani and the strong Turkish influence in the pretty town of Prizren.

“All in all, I would thoroughly recommend Albania and Kosovo for a holiday and to travel with Drive Albania for a rewarding, varied itinerary taking you to the heart of the Balkans.”
